I worked all day. It was busy, I got no breaks. The usual. I was in a good mood but the cook was NOT. The starter on his van is going bad. He bought that van from someone recommended by our boss. I tried to tell him it was not a good idea; but...he sold his van, bought this other van. And now it's turning into shit.
Anyhow... no one was in a very good mood at work today. So I got off work and went right to the Pizza place in Madison. I was NOT impressed with it, actually. For an upscale pizza place, the smell of the pizza did not entice me, and the look of it didn't either. He uses whole slices of mozzarella instead of shredded. And he only makes these ginormous pies.
Well, I didn't taste one, to be fair. But there wasn't that smell you smell in Domino's... or Pizza Hut. I don't know why. At any rate, for some stupid reason I got nervous as hell once I got to Bridge Street. First off that whole interstate -going-70-mph thing, with the interchanges, and not knowing exactly where the hell I was going, then you have to park a LONG way away from the actual place of business you are going to... and it's cold as a mofo.
I'm sure they didn't take that into consideration when they were building it.. "OH MY LORD, Southern people are NOT going to walk a football field in length from their car to the place they are going to eat in temperatures that rival Anchorage, Alaska."
Seriously. There were maybe five people out and about at Bridge street.
Well, I am used to Domino's way of making pizza (and that was a long time ago) so this was a learning experience but I'm sure they could tell I was no stranger to a pizza oven.
The owner was supposed to be there but he wasn't. His wife was. She's a case study. I already don't like her. She made it a point to make it known while I was listening that she has two masters degrees.
So I said "Really???? WOW! Not one, but TWO!" and she seemed to like that.
She didn't seem to think I'd be able to work enough to get the same money I make at the diner though.
However the OWNER, her husband, had told me he was looking for a shift leader. And you'd think a shift leader would get some kind of decent hours.
Doesn't look like they have many full time people, big surprise, and the dishwashers are... can you guess? Mexican nationals.
Well, if they could offer me enough hours I'd take the job if only for a change in my life but I don't think they have the hours.
It's slow as hell with the cold weather.
We on the other hand keep getting busier and busier. I swear I barely get a chance to sit down for five seconds.
And there is no where to sit except the step-stool...
got a letter from mom and answered it, got a call from sister and answered it. Done with family, I hope, for the day.
And now, I just want to VEG. got two movies from Netflix... I should watch one.
But I think I will save all for Sunday. I probably won't go anywhere Sunday.
So tired. So lonely. I'm ready for spring but I dread the summer so much I dont want to see spring come either.
