MREs!

Days ago I saw an ad on Craigslist for a box of MREs for $120.00. I wrote the guy and told him I'd pay seventy-five for it. He finally agreed and we met up tonight and now I own a huge box of MREs. I'm very happy about that. I love those things. I'm weird that way. I loved basic training when we had to eat those things cold out of the bag. Because I grew up eating a lot of food out of cans and into my adult life found myself loving cold corn or peas or beans out of cans. so sue me.
Here's a whole box of cold food ready to eat. Also, twenty or so 'heaters' for the food which would be great camping. You add some water to this bag and a chemical reaction takes place and then you add the bag of food and it heats it up.



Since I had tried to fix the kitchen sink and failed due to it being rusted on, my roommate got the repair man over (so called) and he managed to CUT it off after flooding the kitchen floor. So we have a new faucet at last! In the kitchen anyway.
My friend that comes into the diner has a plumber friend and he's going to send him our way on Saturday, bill paid ahead of time, isn't that awesome? We'll get the bathroom faucet fixed hopefully, then we'll be UPTOWN! And my internet friend will come by NEXT week to install WIFI. Then I can sit on the porch and blog!

I could make a work shop out of that if I built a door for it and cleaned it out. I'll think about it. If I stay, it would be kind of cool to make a work shed out of it. I could put a work bench in there: or hell, just store stuff. Need to build a sturdy door though...
