Right after I did that I walked out to the dining room and was going to look for something else to snap but I noticed this woman walk in. I thought for a moment it was the cook's wife so I nodded hello and smiled.
Wasn't the cooks' wife. She had a metal clipboard in her hand. HEALTH DEPARTMENT!
I ran the hell back in the back and emptied the sinks and washed them out FAST. I dated the cheese, got the hash browns out of the sink (where they were draining... in the HAND SINK) and filled my bleach bucket, put the towels in it.
Whew, just in time. We got a score of 98. The previous score was 89. We got one point off a piece for: open dumpster door and a towel on the floor under the grill.
(Neither of which was my doing.)
So I got an extra twenty bucks with my pay today.
Here's the really good news: I was NOT outside cooking country fried steak over a propane tank next to the dumpster. She came early before the CFSteaks got started.
We dodged that bullet. And anyway we were out of propane and ended up cooking them inside.
At any rate, it was a good day for my boss. Hot as Hades in that place today. I was very grouchy: my clothes were soaked with sweat. I had no energy, just sapped. And we were constantly busy.
Had a long conversation with my sponsor... she is having a hard time with some of the other people in the group I'd been hanging with; so we talked about it. Turns out my sponsor is growing fast and leaving that group of immature people behind in the dust so to speak.
Petty differences and idle gossip abound; sometimes the cats bare their claws, and life is too short and sobriety too dear.
Anyhow, I missed my eight o'clock meeting talking on the phone, which is ok because I got clarity on how I feel about Jane's company. I don't really get anything out of it. She talks about the same things over and over. And over. and over.
Jane's been good to me, but I find that I need a little bit more, something deeper.
Anyhow it doesn't come out right when I try to explain it.
Debrah wants to go scope out the canoe put ins tomorrow, we're going to hire a canoe livery on Sunday and they will carry us and canoes ... to the put in and carry us back from the take out.
Tomorrow she wants to scope out the put in and also watch Hell Boy II, I am not sure what to expect at all.
and Friday we're going to go see The Mist. A movie based on the Stephen King book. Well, doing all that in one week, I guess I'll get to know how I feel about spending a lot of time around her;
I assume if I moved in we'd be doing a lot of stuff together... but I want to talk to her about how she will feel when I meet new friends, have them over, what if she doesn't like them, what if... I meet a girlfriend, etc.
Also I need to know if she is passive aggresive and is she going to swallow her stuff then explode on me one day by throwing my laptop in the fish pond.
LOL, I need to know these things! I would hate to jump from the frying pan into the fire.
