OH! ROCKY!

This is so good for me. I went to rehearsal sort of ... bummed out, because Rocky Horror brings back a zillion good memories and I would kill to have some of that back.
Richard and I, at the Biograph... with Beverly.  *You know, she was the first girl I ever kissed after coming out. And she was English. Go figure.*
Anyhoo... this is good for me. I thought I was doomed to be a dresser but I happened to be there when the turntable guy was there and I got picked for the turntable.
It's pretty simple, a 2hp motor turns a round part of the stage. All I gotta do is hit a reset button and punch the go button. On cue. It's a snap. It's cool.
I get to sit there with the tech manager. She's pretty cool... she's from Denver. We got pretty bored so we were making toys out of whatever we could find on the floor. I found lots of safety pins, a barrett, a bobby pin, a straight pin, a needle, a strand of fake Ivy and a placard telling women how to do breast exams. (From the boxes of Playtex gloves for Frank).
I get to sing along with the cast, too. That's cool. I do get to help Frank dress in his lab coat and all.
The guy playing Eddie came up to me and introduced himself... he liked my "Stonewall 30th anniversary" tshirt. He was like "Kids these days, don't even know what Stonewall is..."
Then he asked me if I'd seen the previews for MILK.
Oh yeah, I did, I said. I cried at the preview! So did he!
We were both like, "IS THAT SEAN PENN????"
The guy playing Frank introduced himself. He's the gayest guy I've met playing Frank. But he's very good at it.
It's good to be backstage again. And I do love learning new things. The funny thing is the controller for the turntable is on loan from Fantasy Playhouse. Wait till I tell mom.
I hate that i have to go to work in the morning... I wish I could go help with the sets. They'll be there all day then do the rehearsal into the night.
 *gotta go to sleep*
