Thanksgiving

I didn't get any turkey, no dressing, not one bite of sweet potato. I woke up, got to the meeting hall and sat listening to some old man proselytize to someone I hope doesn't get scared off. The usual suspects were there; the guy who is my age but who drank himself into seizures and homelessness, the guy who lost a lot of brain function and who makes no sense at all and who rolls his own cigarettes leaving bits of tobacco everywhere... and the guy who can't stop talking to you even when you've taken a call and are talking to someone on the phone. I sat there playing Spore and being bored to tears by the gibberish. When the next facilitator came in at noon I fairly leaped out of my seat with joy and headed home.
Got on the internet for a bit then went to work to put the briskets in...
preparing brisket

Set the oven at 350 and took off to my sister's to watch TV waiting for the briskets to be done.
Watched "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" which was actually pretty good. I like Adam Sandler. If you've never seen his short animated film "The Peeper" you ought to...

Ok now my type is bold and i can't get it to stop being bold... so it stays bold.
Anyhow, my mom called and I talked to her while surfing the net and watching FRIENDS .
She told me how she hates calling the movie theaters to find show times because the long messages are so confusing for her (she's 82 or something close) so I told her I could look it up for her.
That amazed her, that I could look up times for movies in Flagstaff from my laptop in Alabama.
Glad to help, ma.
She sounded down. I guess it IS sad for her to be alone on Thanksgiving night. Well, I might be down about it if I thought about it too long but... *shrug*
It's just another day.
I brought some sliced turkey from work with two slices of cheese and I'm going to make a sammich. It's not Thanksgiving turkey but it's something to eat. I don't feel like microwaving one of my lean quisines so ...
I should get to bed but, I did sleep in this morning so I'll be alright. Here's hoping that by next year I am in school and on break for Thanksgiving ...
I gotta call that voc rehab guy.
I snagged my ipod from my sisters and intend to use it tomorrow at work when I'm mopping. That might help it go faster.
