Ok, this is better

Yesterday I found a couple of people from the Rocky Horror Show crew on Facebook. I wrote them and they added me.
And one of them wrote back "Let's do lunch!" To which I replied,
"Do you mean a Hollywood let's do lunch, or a real let's do lunch?
To which she said a REAL let's do lunch.
So... we had lunch today. At B & B Soul Food, about two miles from here. It's a nice little place, very clean, and the food is good. The service is ok. Anyhow.. I had catfish & green beans & mashed taters & gravy & peach cobbler.
Good stuff. G. was excellent company. Her daughter, S., used to be a guy. She's deep in the thick of the GLBT shit. I didn't get to know S. very well at Rocky Horror... she's kind of aloof, and although I pretty much intuited that the aloofness comes from being so different, because that is how I am, I didn't try to break the ice.
But I did have fun with G; who likes to take pictures in cemeteries, which I also like doing.
And, G. gave me a script for Blythe Spirit, a play by Noel Coward. She thinks I should audition, and since I could care one iota whether I am backstage or on it, I said I would be glad to audition.
My teeth are so horrid... I wonder if they can be seen from the audience. Well... if she asked me to audition I guess she thinks it would be ok.
So I will read the script and see what I think.
She also needs someone to do a lot of special effects (it's about a haunting of sorts).. and that sounds like fun.
Pictures on the wall have to swing... that kind of thing... yup, right up my alley.
I bought a bed frame off of Craigslist today... loving it.

I was going to say it's the first bed frame I ever bought but then I rememberd that is not true. I did buy a futon frame once. Futon and frame were seventy five bucks. Then when I got it home I realized that the futon had been in couch position so long that there was a horrible crease in the middle which made sleeping difficult.
I remember bren coming over and sleeping in that bed with me. All six foot whatever of her. *sigh*
anyhow... I left that futon frame at Cheryl's. Who knows what happened to it. It's been sold at a yard sale by now.
So that is my new bed frame and there are canopy rails too... the guy said they left them in Birmingham, and he will go get them around xmas time and email me when they get them here .
Then I will try a canopy on my bed. OR, I can enclose the whole damn bed in mosquito netting and pretend I am that doctor in Love in the Time of Cholera. LOL.
*sigh*
So... asked my mom to send me my art supplies. We'll see what happens. And my portfolio. Really lookign forward to seeing something I did hanging on my wall.
And getting hopefully inspired to do something new.
So while I am still down, very down, and lonely, I have some things to look forward to.
G. has said that anytime I want to go to a movie to give her a shout... that's cool.
I want to go down to Star Market and see what Ingrid is up to. I miss her...
And I should at least have her email.
I actually... put a DUST RUFFLE on my bed. No, seriously, I did. Can you imagine, ME, putting a DUST RUFFLE on?
Well... it came with the uber-expensive (to me) comforter/shams. And I thought to myself, "What am I ever going to do with this DUST RUFFLE? " and at first I was going to just throw it out or give it to Goodwill but later I was thinking "Why not be civilized, and put it on the bed?"
But my bed was on the floor. So, I got a frame. So, it looks like a real bed now. No denying it, it's a real bed.
*sigh*

And you know what? I haven't had a FOOTBOARD since I was....... like six.
It's so weird to have a headboard and a footboard. I've been living like I was a freaking bum so long.
