Whoa what a night! The guy that has been helping me with my internet (Rob) emailed me. He said he had been very busy and had forgotten to come over here... so he told me something I could try. I changed my router settings from my laptop, right? Made it 'unsecure', we were trying to see if I could just use it that way, risking having every neighborhood wifi thief stealin' mah intrawebs, but... the moment I unsecured it I lost connection totally, unable to reconnect no matter what I did.
So... I emailed Rob from my Ipod. We kept emailing back and forth with the Ipod. And then he said I could change the settings back using the Ipod.
Well... I gotta tell ya. It's funny what gives a person a thrill on this earth but tonight I feel like I had hacked into a bank and transferred a billion dollars to my account, I feel so high because I used my Ipod to reconfigure my wireless router.
One second I was helpless, getting ready to go to bed all upset because I wanted to continue a conversation with someone.
Next second I've changed the router settings with my trusty friend, my Ipod, and felt very empowered. My friend Rob ...patient guy. And to him it was an annoyance I'm sure but to me, it was like being in computer school learning how you can reset routers from Ipods.
I feel great.
